Canadian Fans Boo American National Anthem at Special Olympics
Displaying all the class of your unemployed alcoholic uncle, the Canadian fans booed the American National Anthem during the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics. The boos were apparently as a result of too much Molsen and last year’s alleged Special Olympics roller skating medal fixing scandal.
The controversy stemmed from accusations by Canadian Special Olympiads that American judges had conspired to fix the scoring to guarantee an American team victory.
Despite the reasoning, many Americans were outraged at this vulgar display of Canadian nationalism. “It just sucks.” said Dianne Dimplemonger, mother of a Special Olympiad. “We try to teach these kids that everyone is a winner here, but the Canadians are a bunch of losers.”
Special Olympiad Corkey Thatcher added, “It is extremely unfortunate that the conglomeration of national zealotry and pertinent outrage result in the, dare I say, spoiling of such a splendid event.”
Still, Canadian booer Thomas Thimblebum defended his actions. “I tell those hosers to take off, so what aboot it? We are still as heated as Canadian Bacon in a frying pan. Eh.”
Grand Marshall of the Special Olympics, Gary the Retard of the Howard Stern Show, hopes that with understanding, incidents like this can be avoided in the future. “I am ordering a full investigation of last year’s controversy, and a large pizza with anchovies. To insure fairness for the Canadian fans, I am appointing the trusted Radio, the Other Sister, and I Am Sam to head the committee.”
