Eli Manning has declared himself too good for the San Diego Chargers whining to agent Tom Condon that he doesn't want to play for them. They should feel lucky. We don't have to think too far back to remember the Bolts choosing feisty bust Ryan Leaf. They don't need another.
Eli apparently thinks his surname pulls a bit a weight. It was daddy Archie, a thrower for the Aint's, who started this mess telling the Chargers my boy, is too good for you, he belongs in New York palying for the Giants. So let him go. Imagine what the NY press would do to him if he bombed. They'd rip him to shreds!
Sure big bro Peyton is a star in Indy and perhaps one of the best orchestra conductors in the league when he steps to the line, but Eli thinking he can just ride Peyton's coat tails into the NFL is a joke. He can't even hold Peyton's jock. Yeah, yeah, sure he had good numbers down at Ole Miss. I don't want to hear it. A lot of college quarterbacks put up some impressive stats that don't warrant the investment teams put in them. Ekili Smith, Rick Mirer, David Klinger, anyone? They were all supposed to be the next Joe Montana, but it's Pats QB Tom Brady, a six round, number 199 overall steal in the 2001 draft, who is the one lucky enough to be dating super models, hanging with the President and the Pope and mentioned in the same breath as Montana. Thrown into the right short pass system, Brady has led New England to two Super Bowl titles.
Eli is nothing more than a primadonna, who will likely turn out to be a skirt-wearing Madonna, when he starts playing real ball. A pansy on the sideline. Ole Eli will amount to nothing in the NFL. Just like Pops. So Chargers GM A.J. Smith should be happy. Instead take Pitt receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who's sure to make an immediate impact. As for the Eli, try proving yourself before you start up your mouthpiece agent or get dear old dad, or god-forbid your mother, to fight your battles, you big cry baby. At least have the balls to come out and say it yourself. Here's hoping this jackass falls flat on his face.
