With the addition this year of Payton and Malone, which bolstered the already superb Lakers which consisted of Shaq and Koby, and a decent bench, all expected them to take it all, decisvely.
Wrong.
Pistons out hearted them, out played them, and in Ben Wallace`s case, out muscled them, if that can be imagined.
With this year coming to an end, Koby is pushing for free agency, Malone and Payton also have the option to opt out and go to free agency, and Phil Jackson said that he may be leaving, it seems that the dynasty is crumbling. The one man that is left, big Shaq, even voices that he may want to leave the franchise.
It is unclear what will happen this summer, whether it be the Lakers returning to reclaim the title, or a rebuilt mediocre team, en absentia: Koby, Malone, Payton, and Jackson.
We will see, if it is the end of a dynasty and the start of a new one, or if it is just a hickup, a brain fart.
