A very interesting read Sara. Allow me to opine on the topics raised.

6. Anaheim - I really do not care what they call their teams. In fact I have suggested in the past that the baseball team should be called Los Angeles California Mighty Angels of Anaheim Orange County. Afterall it's a very inclusive name and should not offend anyone.

5. World Baseball Classic - I was very sceptical of this event prior to the start. I did not like the timing. However, it was an international competition with Major League quality, so, I gave it a chance. Much to my surprise I loved it. Sure the format can be tweaked for imporvement but, for a first time true World Cup of Baseball I give a tip of the cap to the organizers. What needs to happen now is that people who govern international baseball over in Geneva, Switzerland need to recognize this competition as the REAL World Cup and either ditch their so-called world cup or turn it into a under-21 competition. Congrats to Japan, I was very happy to see Sadaharu Oh win the big one.

4. NCAA Tournament - Now I do not know much about college basketball. And really do not follow the tournament all that closely but it seems to me that this is the system that the member institutions have decided upon. They have turned the power of making the post season tournament over to a committee. Given that, no one should bitch to the committee. If you got a problem with who made it in and who did not, bitch to the college you support. They signed off on this committee business. Either that or win more games.

3. Billy Packer? Never heard of him.

2. Dallas fans - I have complete confidence that Dallas will still fill their stadium, TO or no TO. Plus I am American and I do not consider them in any way shape or form "America's Team" never have, never will. The Cowboys are on that wonderful list of teams I call scum.

1. Alfonso Soriano - Why people are berating him is beyond me. If anything I blame the Washington Nationals, not the Senators they make legislation you know. The Nationals knew what they were getting and failed in early attempts at getting Alfonso to make the desired switch of position. I have no doubt that Soriano is a proud man and may have seen this switch as a slight, all athletes at elete levels have egos. With that in mind I think the Nationals could have handled the situation in more professional way. In the end dear Alfonso trotted out and played Left Field, hopefully that is the end of the story.
