So you don't include hockey because the TV ratings are at an all time low yet you say the same for basketball and still include it? That is just not fair IMO. Hockey came off a lockout that saw the demise of an entire season yet still managed to draw loads of fans back. Why did the fans come back, well it was not based on some over-juiced home run race that some other sport used. It was based on the fans knowing that the players were giving their all and the excitement generated brought them back.
TV ratings, fiddlesticks, I never get asked by any TV polling person what I watch. Thank goodness there are options out there besides ESPN, I do not need them telling me what it is I should be watching.
As far as excitement goes since I am limited to your choices, there cannot be a bigger more exciting game then football. I say as an objective observer. I cannot deny the amount of people who watch and follow the game and the massive amount of coverage the game receives. I don't know enough about basketball to comment and baseball well, a few good pieces of drama in an otherwise dull and laborously long season does not fuel the old excit-o-meter in my book.
