No it isn't, the one rule in baseball that is surely to get you a lifetime ban is gambling on baseball. Is doing drugs worse than batting? On a moral scale that is for each person to decide. In the world of baseball though doing drugs is punishable but not to the extent that gambling is. Now why do you think that is the case? Because the drugs or alcohol hurt the person involved and perhaps may hurt his team's chances if that player cannot perform to the best of their ability. When players or managers gamble then the whole integrity of the game is tainted which is far worse according to the rules. The whole worldof sport is built upon relying on the integrity of the competitors when that trust is tarnished then the whole concept of sport falls apart.
