Formula 1 2007 Season

The F1 season is now well under way and I must say that I had to really do some deep soul searching to figure out who I should support. In recent years I had found myself supporting the McLaren-Mercedes Benz team because I liked the cars and their number 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen. This year however, everything needed re-evaluated.

The retirement of driving legend Michael Schumacher from Ferrari left a void in one of the top teams. What followed was a shift of some of the top drivers. Kimi Raikkonen left McLaren to fill the vacant spot left by Schumacher at Ferrari. That left McLaren looking for a new number 1. They have signed former Renault driver and current World Champion Fernando Alonso. So who do I choose? I thought of staying with Raikkonen but in the end had to stay loyal to my favorite team at McLaren. So it was with much joy that I stayed up in the early morning to watch Alonso win the Malaysian Grand Prix last Sunday morning in dominating fashion. It appears that this season will be a two team race for the title as McLaren with Alonso and rookie driver Lewis Hamilton have taken four podium positions already and Ferrari with Kimi and Felip Massa look up to the challenge. Here's hoping for another great season of racing!
