Again with SOG a player with 20 shots but no points for the week can be more valuable to a team than a stud scoring player who gets 8 goals and 8 assists for the week. Thats like giving field goal kickers points for misses/blocks.
To me SHP are much better than GWGs. First, because they only go to players who are good enough to actually play shorthanded. Make players like St. Louis and Brindamour even more valuable compared to similar players who aren't good enough definsively to play the PK. Shorthanded goals are rare, but when they do happen, they usually cause a huge momentum swing. Much moreso than the third goal in the first period that ends up as the game winner.

Shots on goal is just one category. WHoever has more for the week gets one win. Just like whoever has more goals or more assists will get one win for each. Again, I have mixed feelings about shots on goal. I've never actually been in a league that used it, but it is now a yahoo default setting. Maybe replace it with something like faceoffs won? Though the downside to that is that every team will try to load up on centers.
