depends on the contract wording - I don't quite understand how a supposed signing bonus could be tied to future bonuses. Since I don't know the full story on the $ paid to date I can't give a fully informed opinion - but hell that doesn't stop the rest of the world from having their opinion. Anyway, if the $20 Million was a signing bonus, then I don't think the Falcons should get any back. If it was some sort of 'pre-payment' plan then they should. This whole issue makes me wonder about the games that are played in payment schedules for these guys - seems to me that if a team pays up front or goes the deferred payment route, they are likely doing it to try to get around salary cap rules. In my mind, you can't have it both ways - if the team pays up front they must be doing it because it works to their advantage, and the price they pay for it is incurring the risk of something like Vick happenning and losing that money. Short of it - F'em, they should be forced to eat the $20 M.
