This past off season June Jones, the head coach of the Warriors contacted Michigan about playing Hawaii in their opening game, Michigan declined and opted for Appalachian State and we all know how that ended up. Then Jones contacted USC and asked if they would play Hawaii and they declined as well. Michigan State paid Hawaii $ 250,000.00 to back out of a game with the Warriors. So Jones is trying to get teams to play Hawaii and their non conference schedule does not seem to be their fault. Why don't teams want to face the Warriors? Is it the expense of traveling to Hawaii to play a game? Is it Colt Brennan? Please someone do tell!!

Hawaii needs to either swallow their pride and play the big boys on the road or move to the Pac-10. In college football, no team plays anywhere unless it is to their advantage either financially or from a competition standpoint. Could
Hawaii beat a top 10 team? Maybe but we don’t know that. What we do know is that they have played a shitty schedule and their only big win was against
Boise State. It seems like Hawaii is trying to gain some respectability and that’s great but they have to find some way to work within the system to get more exposure and play higher competition even if that means playing fewer home games.
