That may be, but it would still be MUCH better. Look at it like this... if you take the top 8 teams, and the 9th place team doesn't get in, too bad. If you weren't one of the TOP 8, then you really don't have much of an arguement. Now if there were 3 undefeated teams under the current system, one gets screwed and that is a MUCH bigger deal.
