And there’s no shame in the fact that Notre Dame’s tradition – very remarkable and outstanding in its own right – has been packaged, marketed and sold to the masses as college football’s Promised Land. It seems to be sacrilegious to criticize Notre Dame. I believe in Jesus, but I don’t believe his hands are outstretched over a football field. Most of the Notre Dame fans I know are too ignorant to admit when they suck anyways. Think about this for a minute. The last time Notre Dame won a bowl game was 10 years ago. Nebraska has won THREE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS since Notre Dame last won a bowl game. Irish fans will always be ignorant and pride themselves on their so-called holy program, but I think any real college football team knows where that program sits right now.

Yes, we are arrogant/ignorant, and yes, we have sucked in recent times....but Bob Davey almost completely ruined the program. When Lou Holtz was coach ND had some of the greatest teams and the top recruting classes. Then, Davey came in and destroyed it. They got rid of Lou Holtz because they felt he was gaining to much control/power in the school.
Anyway, this years team is really weird. They can beat the teams that they aren't supposed to beat and lose to the ones they should walk all over (i.e. BYU) but they do play some of the best teams in the country and have one of the toughest schedules, you all have to admit that.
About the USC game though, I don't know if they will be able to pull it off. This is a rivalry game and both teams are gonna go out there and give it their all, but I don't think Notre Dame (I can't believe I'm saying this) is good enough to beat USC. USC has some of the best offensive players in the country (Reggie Bush,Matt Leinhart) and they have one of the best defenses. The only category ND beats them in really is ND's Run Defense vs USC's Run game (It was in the Blue and Gold magazine, wich obviously is a magazine about ND, in every other category USC had the advantage). But, I would not be surprised as everyone else will be if Notre Dame wins.
Oh yeah, I am not one of those sunshine fans like CK was talking about. I know what he means on that one. Thats the way most people are when it comes to college football they like the best teams in the country. I have been a Notre Dame fan ever since I was little.
