I have no clue how much each fighter was getting. The point of the fight was for Mayweather to fight a guy that was a big puncher but didn't have a chance to beat him. Floyd was fighting at 130 in 2001, then moved up to 135 until 2004, and now moved up to 140. He only ever had that one fight at 140 and has never really felt the power being up that high. He needed to get another fight at 140 under his belt and let himself feel the power up there. He got hit ON PURPOSE by this Brusales guy. He is looking at a fight vs. Arturo Gatti in June or July and he has never fought a guy with anywhere near the power of Gatti.
It may not seem like a lot, but to go up 2 weight classes in 4 years is a big deal. He is trying to get himself ready for the super fights of the 140 lbs division. That division is pretty much the toughest and best in all of boxing. I don't know if the boxing world has ever seen a top 10 like they have in the current light welter division.
