PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate."
THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.

I tend to agree Bil, political debates are endless circles and rarely does a mind change, similar to religious debates, however...you stated you will vote for Johnny...care to elaborate as to why?
Let me say first that I pay no attention to national pundits, experts or bloggers. They all have an agenda that amounts to nothing more than he said, she said, similiar to Rusty's very passionate postings on this thread. Obama must be this because he said that; Palin must have meant this when she said that.

For me comes down to who do I trust to do the least damage to my wallet tax-wise and who do I trust to make the big decision. Obama has impressed me in some ways but his selection of Biden amazed me. I expected Obama to be bold. Biden is exactly what Obama has been running against. I like the Palin selection it shows me that McCain is unafraid to go out on a limb.

On a lighter note I always say, never trust a dude with hairplugs.

I respect your thoughts and views on that...I like people who vote based on an informed decision and important topics that directly affect that.

Personally I am still undecided, as an independent I have a lot of views on both sides of the aisle...unfortunately for me I tend to hate most all politicians, lack of government change, and money grubbing bastards...so each election always seems like more of the same old BS...I hope one of these guys really convinces me differently but I also fear it will always be the same old shit each time around.

obama had to take old white dude to win over some votes..it was obvious he was going with that instead of an "out there" pick..for all the change he spews about, he just chugged along with the same ol same ol

saying that i don't want sarah palin running the country if mccain drops dead(cause of my sexist ways), but if my wallet stays heavier with her in there, so be it..with obama or biden, its going to be much lighter

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Let me introduce you to the the BaldBil model of operational government; everything stays as is from municipal to federal level. No changes are required in election cycles, terms or requirements for office. except that I would allow all non-violent felons who have served their time to hold office. The only change would be this;

"Every four years at each level of government; municipal, county, state and federal one elected or appointed official at any level will be selected via secret ballot for a public flogging to be held exacly one week following the election. This flogging will be administered in a public square by a person selected by committee's at each level of government. These committee's shall be comprised of people who have never held elective or appointed office. They will be chosen one month after the the November election every fourth year and remain seated until the next election cycle has completed and the floggee has been selected. No person shall sit on this committee for more than one election cycle. In cases of extreme betrayal of public the flogging may be waived and a public execution authorized by the unanimous assent of the committee."
