So we got brand new computers at work. Which is cool and all i guess. But how the hell do I get firefox to connect to the internet? For whatever reason i just can't figure it out. Anyone have a clue what i could do to make it work? IE just doesn't work with the Rant at work.

I just downloaded it onto my laptop and it worked right away

I'm thinking it may because of some firewall from my work... which would be weird because it worked fine on the last computer and its still the same network.

any network changes? they usually happen overnight

Not that I know of. Firefox was working this morning. Dude changed my computer and now it doesn't. Has to be something i'm not doing right.

I would uninstall, then re-install firefox. Sounds like it didn't completely load the first time.

This is going to be a VERY stupid question. But does it matter where I save it to? It won't let me save it on the desktop like I had it before.

did you get upgraded on your operating system?

Call your help desk...tell them whats going on...that you can't load firefox so you can browse the rant better.

I think your work may be blocking it...you can delete the download uninstall it and try downloading it again and loading it. If the install goes ok but you still can't access the internet via the firefox browser then it is likely being blocked, silently by your company.

It could be a lot of things...new systems can come with new security measures...I don't know how locked down your systems are but you may not have the rights to use newly installed programs without an admin running it first.

Some financial companies block certain ports or only use certain ports so they can guarentee secure logins and access, like I said could be a million things.

Most companies don't like firefox because of all the fun things you can do with the browser...especially at work.
