bump:

well 9/11 year 7 is coming up quickly and for the first time i get to experience the day while being just a few blocks from the actual site..already the security is off the charts..this week i've seen about 80 cops minimum per day in the vicinity...mostly standing around doing nothing...plus the lovely guys in full tactical gear with machine guns just hanging out..i believe its the hercules project..stinks will tell me if i'm wrong...they've closed off roads and sidewalks,etc...they are putting up stands for the services being held in the very small park diagonal from the site..i can only imagine how crazy it'll be on thursday...with all the services going on and now obama and mccain will be there together..i can only imagine its going to be a crazy day..i wish i had a camera..i'd take pics

as i texted stinks yesterday, i counted what i saw on my walk yesterday...this is not a lie

51 uniform cops, 2 full tactical officers, 6 police cars, 1 police van, 1 firetruck plus some security guards and terrible traffic "cops"

it was just as bad this morning...not looking forward to tomorrow

traffic "cops" are the worst and not real cops...but now they are allowed to write tickets for blocking the box..haha

this morning one of them pissed me off...red light and we're allowed to walk..nope..she stops us and lets the cars go instead...on a red light!!!!

most of the traffic cops are complete fucking morons who just look up to see what the traffic flow should be based on the light and wave their hand accordingly as one way backs up for 36 blocks..... they do however move quick if you're pushing along at a decent rate, blaring the horn and screaming at them out of the window.

and yeah, those are the hercules (sp?) teams with their mp5's & snub nosed shotguns, they tend to get a bit more respect than the average cop on the street.
