Well tonight's the night... the live contender finalie between Steve Forbes and Grady Brewer. There are also 3 undercards with contender fighters, not sure which ones will be televised. Make your picks...

Forbes vs. Brewer - Forbes by late stoppage
Bundridge vs. Bravo - Bravo by decision
Wright vs. Barrett - Wright by decision
Curiel vs. Torres - Torres by decision

Forbes/Brewer fight is 10 rounds and K9/Bravo fight is 8. The other two are 6 rounds.... I'm guessing they will only show 2 or 3 of these fights... anyone know for sure?

the commercial made it seem like forbes/brewer would follow k9/bravo...the other fights might be fillers if the fights end early

I'll eat a big bag of crows! I can't believe that Forbes lost that fight. He's a MUCH better fighter than Brewer is, he just didn't go with the right game plan. But you have to give a ton of credit to Brewer.. wow.

lol, BM... if anything it was rigged in Forbes favor.

brewer definitely fought a better fight and deserved to win...but against a competitor who actually belongs in that weight class...he's gonna get beat...he doesn't have the power to ko people and isn't quick enough to outpunch...thats why he has 11 losses....

steve forbes only made 30k for a championship fight back in the day???

Not a very big draw to see two 130 (or 135 can't rememeber) fighters who aren't really big names. He never fought any big names for the titles so at best he would have been an undercard on a PPV... but probably just an undercard on HBO or Showtime. Most of their budget goes to the guys putting asses in the seats. Forbes was never "that" guy.

still...30k for a fight doesn't seem like enough...granted i'd take it in second to fight...but even an undercard to an hbo show, i would think at least 6 figures

Yeah you would think that because of how much De La Hoya and Mayweather make... but sometimes the main event on HBO doesn't get 6 figures. Think about it... where does the money come from to pay all the fighters on the card? Ticket sales and advertising... many of these places don't seat all that many.

The big money comes when the fighters get a share of all PPV sales.
