FINALLY!!!!!! Someone else who doesn't think Winky is the next greatest boxer ever. Don't get me wrong Winky is a very good fighter, but he's so overrated its pathetic. He's so high in my rankings because he has not lost in 6 1/2 years. But he hasn't beaten any of the top fighters except for Felix Trinidad. He beat a blown up Mosley twice and pretty much all "B" level fighters becides that.

I think Jermain Taylor will finally give Winky his first loss in a while.

He's too reactive. He never presses the action, just plays defense and lands a counter punch here and there. He's just lucky Soloman doesn't have any power, otherwise he would have looked like a catcher's mitt after that fight

And thats exactly the same thing with his 2nd fight vs. Mosley. Winky only won that decision by 2 or 3 rounds and Shane got some great shots in. But again, Shane doesn't have much power at 154, not like he did at 135. Taylor can hit, and its going to be interesting to see how Winky reacts.

**UPDATE 03/06/2006**

I must say, I can't remember a time where i've been more shocked over one weekends results before. Joe Calzaghe did what I personally didn't think was possible. He DESTROYED my #8 fighter Jeff Lacy. Joe was undefeated sure, but not many thought he was good enough to be all that close to Lacy, let alone make the fight look like USC vs. a high school team.

Also, my #5 Juan Marquez lost by unanimous decision to Chris John. Again, John was undefeated but had not fought near the caliber fighters that Marquez had. Talk about not knowing what the hell to do with my top 10 at this point. At 41-0 and a destruction of Lacy... Calzaghe has to move in.

1. Floyd Mayweather Jr - Fights Zab Judah 4/08
2. Marco A. Barrera - Fights Jesus Chavez 3/25 *postponed*
3. Winky Wright - Fights Jermain Taylor 6/17
4. Manny Pacquiao - Fights Oscar Larios 5/20
5. Jermain Taylor - Fights Winky Wright 6/17
6. Ricky Hatton - Beat Carlos Maussa 11/26
7. Jose Luis Castillo - Fights Louis Brown 04/01, & vs. Corrales 6/03
8. Joe Calzaghe - Beat Jeff Lacy 3/04
9. Juan M. Marquez - Lost to Chris John 3/04
10. Diego Corrales - Fights Jose Luis Castillo 6/03

Just out - Jeff Lacy, Chris John, Antonio Margarito, Antonio Tarver, James Toney, Oscar Larios, Zahir Raheem, Kostya Tszyu, Erik Morales

No. And my reasoning...

His only wins in the last 10 years are against C+ to B fighters. And I can't count his win over Ruiz because its now rules a NC because of Toney testing positive for steroids. And Rahman isn't that big of a win either. Hasim is living off of his one punch KO of Lennix Lewis. Since that win, he got CRUSHED by Lewis, lost to a 400 year old Holyfield, and lost to Ruiz.

James Toney...

Hasim Rahman...
http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=006070

IMO the guys on my list have beaten MUCH better fighters thus far. BUT, Toney has the skill to be on the list, he just has to finally step up and fight the Byrds, Klitchko's, Valuevs.

I agree 100%. IMO Toney will beat Chris Byrd and Nick Valuev and Wlad Klitchko. But i'm not using these rankings as "what do i think will happen". I'm basing it on what has happened so far.

Toney may be the 2nd most talented P4P fighter in the world (behind Mayweather). I just want him to show us!

no the rankings should be based on what is done, not what you think might happen...otherwise i'd have tyson as my #1 for his future comeback..where he turns into 1988 mike tyson again and mauls everyone put in front of him

Ugh, Calzaghe/Hopkins. I can't wait for Hopkins to retire. His style made one of the most exciting fighters in the sport have a boring ass fight. Calzaghe tried to do what he could to hit him, but Bernard threw one punch then hung on for dear life. The decision was correct. Possible is Calzaghe vs. Jones Jr. Awesome.

Cotto/Gomez... pretty much exactly how I saw that one going. Gomez is many levels below Miguel... there isn't one thing he does better than Cotto. Well other than acting like a punching bag that is. I believe Cotto vs. Margarito is next... that should be a fun, good fight.

Also, looks like it will be Chad Dawson vs. Antonio Tarver next. That should be a good one as well.
