Spitz record will not fall... EXCELLENT.. and having the USA not doing the typical flag waving we are used to at anything they are participating in is a nice change. Worst part is the reason why has nothing to do with the Olympics..it is because of the Oil in the east.. I mean the war ..or is it a police action again.. I get so confused..

I'm looking forward to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. If I can, I'm going to be heading to the northwest for a couple weeks to take in the Games. Then again, I could just wait until the 2018 Winter Olympics, which Denver might be in the running for.

Maybe I'll just go to bed. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

I was watching news out of Seattle tonight..and they covered the Olympics and went on to mention.. "one of the best Skeet shooters in the world is from Canada..but she spent some time in the US.. and some guy who lives in Seattle is on the Canadian Olympics team..( so he is Canadian...who cares where he trained/lived) I dont care who trained where..but if he/she represents my country I cheer for them. What is it with the USA low self esteem they must reach out this way to try to take credit for another countries athletes success... even Blakey did it with some swimmers. Not that I am blasting the USA..but why do they do that ? Almost seems that they have to have a reason for winning and losing all the time.. Why not just say hey.. We lost... the better person won .. nuff said..never hear it.. the USA placed last but the guy who won visited Texas once....lol (picked Texas cus its easier to spell than other states

Who exactly are you talking about? All Americans?
If you heard one or two people say that,it is not a representation of all Americans.Making an excuse for a loss or taking credit for someones success is not just an American issue.All through the NHL playoffs,I heard non stop excuse making by Montreal and Calgary fans for losing .When the Lightning did win,they took credit because Canadians were on the team.Nothing in your post concerning Americans can be validated.
Americans are people just like Canadians with the same flaws and the same
traits of human nature.

Watch any coverage of the Olympics by a US networks..its all the same. That country didnt win the gold.. but we the US lost it.. its like that all the time.. as for the NHL.. well lets visit that... First off.. you obviously didnt any of my posts about my Canucks losing so guess you are following my lead and lumping me in with the rest of the Canadian hockey fans who were mad at their team(s) for losing.. We lost..cus the other team scored more goals then we did.. pissed off..yeah I was..but so what.. still watched the finals. Also..hockey is our game..we own It. it happens every year.. and you obviously didnt read any of the news on the NBA finals..it was the same there. Oh yeah..just to make you more happier.. you are welcome for a Canadian inventing Basketball.

First of all,I wasn't on this board during the playoffs,so I was not lumping you in.I was not refering to you at all.Second,you do not own squat.Thirdly,I don't care about basketball and if it was never invented,it would be fine by me.
I have nothing against Canada or Canadians,but for some reason you seem to feel Canadians are a differet species from Americans and have brains that function differently then Americans when in reality you are suffering from an
inferiority complex.

Not to mention it's a US broadcast aimed at US citizens,so yeah,they are going to be talking about the US.They have nothing against Canada though.And I don't see how they are doing anything different then a Canadian broadcast would for Canadian citizens.

I've been watching the Olympics since 72 and can tell ya the coverage was always who was the best regardless of country til NBC took it over.
They didn't even give the scores of the mens gymnastics finals when it was done. very lame.

Okay then..please tell me why millions of Americans sign up to Canadian Television when the Olympics are on ? Because of the unbiased coverage. As for inferiority complex not at all.. We have no reason to be jealous of any country at all.
