aw hell no, tell me you did not just go there!! you mean you geel sorry for us because we don't look like we're malnourished? gimme a fucking break. yeah, i have a muscular back and shoulders but they do NOT look manly. Just because some girls are athletic and in shape doesn't mean they ought to be felt sorry for so to speak. personally i'm damn happy with my body big shoulders and all.

Also without natural talent you wont go anywhere..so doesnt really matter where they train..if they get the time in they need they will succeed. I know numerous Canadians that play or have played golf in the states due to scholarships. They love it.. paid to play golf and paid to go to school..who wouldnt get caught up in the big US machine. ( oh..and the weather..-40 or +30..which would you choose ( and for you non metric types..that would be.. -40F or +90f but still love watching the Olympics.. even cheering for the US right now against Greece in BBall.. excellent game
Of course it's clear why they would want to come here, they get an education paid for with the best training out there. Of course you have to have natural talent to get anywhere eventually, but honestly not as much as you might like to believe...

Well not sure about best training out there.. as I dont have a clue what Australia, Japan,America, China..etc etc have for training.. I do know what Canada does..and it sucks..but its due to our countries size..population distribution priorities etc.. the local fellow who was a top Canadian amateur athlete 5-6 years ago had to pay for his own equipement.. had to fight for time on the course ( rowing guy ) etc.. He also had part time job and was attending University full time..I golf with him fairly often..and he once mentioned to me that the USA olympic budget for the swim team is 3 times what all of Canada amateur athletes combined per year.. kind of makes our gold medals ( extremely rare ) so awesome. I have to disagree on the natural talent issue.... I was hardcore into sports in high school and college..until and ugly car accident changed sports for me..and I have seen so much raw talent channeled well, even with mediocre coaching that to me its a major factor. Doesnt matter how much you love a sport..if you dont have a natural ability to do it..you will never be the top. Golf is a perfect example.. hardest sport in the world to play.. yet millions play it..take lessons..have top notch equipement and still shoot in the 100's, but show me a person who has natural talent for the sport.. give him Walmarts worst junk clubs etc.. and he will still kick 90% of golfers asses.. ( not mine though ..lol )

ok i understand what your saying...but the reason why not so many, if any australian swimmers come to the states (or japanese) is because the training there is excellent. but it is true that because of the money put into amateur/university sports here in the states there are more opporunities, especially for people from small countries where it really isnt a big deal.

As for the talent, I'm by no means trying to say that it doesn't take any talent at all to get to the top...I'm simply saying that someone with maybe not quite the talent that say a Michael Phelps has could go far with an unparalleled work ethic.

Yeah I actually do know some of the Olympians. I have 5 teammates on the US team (Klete Keller, Peter Vanderkaay, Dan Ketchum, Tom Malchow and Kara Lynn Joyce who swims for Georgia but also represents Club Wolverine) and one on the Canadian team (Andrew Hurd) as well as my summer coach Jon Urbanchek who was named an assistant coach on the men's team.

Haha, yeah I'll totally race you. I'll even race ya drunk...

Honestly, I haven't really taken a good look at her, but now that you say it, i will have to check her out. But one out of 100 isn't good enough. I'm sorry, but those chicks are funny looking... call me shallow, but huge backs and bulging shoulders just doesn't do it for me at all.

Its just like the cyclist chicks with their HUGE muscular legs... its gross! Just my personal opinion.

Wow, your right! I don't know how that is possible, she must be a freak of nature. I would actually bend her over, she's not a bad looking chick actually. Don't get me wrong, she is by no means great looking, but by a swimmers standard's she a 10.

Yes, alittle, but they are not nearly as bad as most of the others. Plus there was a pic of her swimming, taken from above her. When she spread those wings, my god did the back open up. Still do-able, but no doggie style, couldn't look at that back the whole time.
