Baseball is the only HOF with a morals clause written into the criteria. In spite of this there are more than a few who are in who were not morally upright men. That being said I do not support Rose going into the hall until he comes completely clean. He has admitted betting on baseball but denies ever betting on a game he was involved in. When he does admit that in public and without equivacation I will rethink this.

Very thoughtful Bil and I agree with your statement.

Here is my last thought on this subject, Joe Jackson and the Black Sox never got back into baseball neither should Rose.

Yes but those Black Sox were players, not a manager

Rose did this as a manager, not his accomplishments as a player

lets just say he didn't bet on his team but bet on baseball....and he admits this...and mlb then comes out and shows all the evidence they have and none of it says he bet on his own team....can we allow him to be in hof then?? cause he admitted to betting but mlb has never shown anything they have

Don't matter, he was still acting as a paid professional in a Major League Baseball uniform, he gave the integrity of the game the middle finger I am more than happy to see baseball give it back to him.

Thats right. Joe Jackson's only crime in this was he was offered money and didn't take it. He claimed that he told the manager and that the owner(Comiskey) was fully aware of what he told the manager. Comiskey by the way is in the HOF.

Maybe to you it doesn't matter! But I would bet there is a majority of fans that think differently!

Really? I swore he took the money but didn't throw the games (which is obviouls looking at his numbers)

I don't disagree with that statement at all Meik. One of the beauties of sport is that fans can have differing opinions on matters such as these and debate the worth and merits of these issues.

If at some later date the HOF does decide to let in Rose then that is their decision I will not nor ever agree with it but them's the breaks.

My memory may be faulty here I haven't looked at the facts in quite a while. I believe he did not take the money.
