How could he prove it? After Ralphy's debacle,what could he possibly say to sway people into believing him?

I'd start with a lie detector, lol then see whatelse his lawyer thinks would be good/beneficial.

I would like to see two things happen.

1. Eliminate the morals clause from the HOF criteria. With guys like Cobb(nutcase & gambler), Speaker(KKK leader?), Comiskey(gambler) Landis(commisioner & racist), Durocher(gambler), Perry(cheater) and more than a few others in there it is a waste.

2. McGwire come forward and speak clearly about what he did and why.

( I would also like the Merrimack River to be beer insteaed of water)

but this goes back again to who's gonna believe him or not believe him....its easier to say he's guilty than it is innocent so voters go with that instead of looking at his baseball numbers and impact he had on the game...

I believe he juiced. I believe that now, I believed that in 1998. Can I prove it? Of course not. Can he prove he didn't? Of course not. I also believe that this stuff in baseball goes back to the sixties but was not as pervasive as it became in the 90's. I can't prove that either. It is what I believe based on what I have seen.

The problem is,you have no idea if Ripkin or Gwynn juiced or not.The fact is their good boy images they have don't mean squat when it come to steriods. You just don't know. You can't let some guys in and keep others out based on personal beliefs.

I am not saying they did or didn't. What I am saying is that until this is all sorted out, those under suspicion(rightly or wrongly) are not going to get in.

If he is really innocent, why not submit himself to a lie detector and seek other ways to prove his innocence, I know there are ways that I don't know of but there are, and then on top of all of that begin suing all those that say you did juice for slander, if you are really innocent and know there is no trail that can lead back to you saying otherwise the idiots will back off.

1. most of the time lie detectors are not admissible in court..i know its not court but if thats the case..how much credit can be given if he takes one and passes??

2. who is he gonna sue for slander?? noone's specifically come out and said, mcgwire did steroids...its just the thoughts of many

3. even if he holds a press conference today and says i did not use steroids and no proof he did comes out...people have already formed there opinion and will not change it...

Point is, if he is really innocent and wants to clear his name, he would be doing anything he could to do so, he doesn't appear interested in doing that.

I just wanted to stated that I am not calling him guilty or not guilty just discussing.

maybe he doesn't want to be involved with the whole steroid issue...maybe he feels he has nothing to gain by suing everyone under the sun and causing a big stink...who knows
