Yeah, they have a year to sign him...if not he can re-enter the draft, I can't imagine he would sit the whole year for that...but depending on who is screwing who in the talks it could happen.

Seriously, if they don't sign him and they get nothing from the #1 pick, i may really denounce this team. I like to think i'm pretty loyal to the teams i care about... but i don't know how much more of this retardation i can take.

I will be done with them, its bull what is happening. To miss 30 days of camp and 2 exhibition games? Who does he think he is? I would think your first few years of training camp would be the most important of your career. I do notice the players aren't commenting much on it.

I don't want to fully blame him yet, we really don't know if the Raiders are trying to rip him off of his value. He shouldn't be expected to take less than everyone else because the team is stupid. Not saying thats what is happening, but we don't know.'

And you're right, its weird how NOTHING is really being said from the organization or players on this. Al must have them so scared to say a word.

In an interview with some agents last year, they said one reason the Raiders sign older players is because they generally have to pay players more to get them to go to Oakland. They last had talks on Monday a week ago, I would think at that point something might have been reached.

here's an article with at least a little incite into the issue...looks like Russell wants 30 mil guaranteed no matter what and the Raiders aren't cool with that idea. This was talks on the 22nd of this month...the first they had in "weeks" before this...wow.

How can we find out how much guaranteed money Alex Smith got from being the #1 overall pick in 2005? Or how much Williams, Bush and Young got from being the top #3 picks last year? I think that will give us a good idea if he's asking for too much or not.
