We will find out about Tennessee real quick with Florida and LSU back to back
on Sept 17 and 24.If they can win those two, they should roll to a BCS bowl game.

Everyone saw the OSU and Texas games last season. That defense was not very impressive. And then the secondary takes a hit coming into this year. I'm not saying it is the worst defense in the Big Ten (there's always Indiana), but it's not comparable to Iowa or Ohio St.

I'll give you that OSU and Iowa have a better overall defense. But saying the have "zero" is a little far fetched. Like I said, they have one of the best D-lines in the nation... which means pressure on opposing QB's and stuffing the run early. The D-line will help bail out the "weak" secondary because the QB won't have time to go through his progression.

The Texas game isn't exactly a good judge of the D however. Vince Young smoked UM all by himself. How many scrambling QB's like that are they really going to see this season? UM held Benson to 67 yards on 23 carries. The problem was the couldn't stop the QB from scrambling. He had 193 yrds on 21 carries. SICK. That was obviously more of a gameplan issue than it was a personel issue.

CFN has Michigan ranked as the #5 overall offense in the nation. Even if their defense struggles, the offense will put huge points on the board. UM vs. OSU in November with both teams undefeated?? Lets hope.

Also, how the hell does OSU plan on scoring this season? Their offense was horrible last season, and they are using pretty much the same players from last year. I'm sure something has improved because everyone has OSU having a great season this year. CFN (college football news) has them going 10-1 this year... do i need to mention the one team they have beating them????

The first half of the season, the offense struggled.

But once they started getting the ball to Ginn more often and with Troy Smith under center, the offense played much better. They have three very fast receivers with Ginn, Holmes, and Gonzalez. The question mark is tailback. We'll see how Antonio Pittman does this season. He can't possibly be worse than Lydell Ross was.

Honestly, Michigan doesn't worry me as much as Iowa and Penn St. do this season.

All I ask is that you stick around for the NCAA season. You HONESTLY are more worried about PSU this year? Believe me, i am in PSU country, they are nothing to worry about. But feel free to keep thinking that. I can't wait to bring this post back up in november.

All i need is for OSU to beat Texas on the 10th and for Tennessee to lose one game, and UM will have a national championship vs. USC.

Today, CFN released it's team defensive rankings for the upcoming season. They have UM ranked 15th overall in the nation. Doesn't sound too bad to me. If you have the 5th best offense and 15th best defense you have a very good shot at being a very good team.

Penn St. is the first road game of the year for the Buckeyes. It's always a tough place to play, and their defense should be very good this season. That's what worries me. Even Iowa doesn't worry as much since the team will probably have revenge on its mind for last year's loss. And the way Ohio St. has played against LLLoyd and his boys in recent years, The Game doesn't strike fear into my heart like it did during the Cooper years.

College football season is the reason I came back here. Deep down, a very small part of me wishes some success to scUM, just for the sake of making the Big Ten look good.

Well i for one am happy your back. There's nothing better than trashing OSU fans! I see what your saying about Penn State, but you can not win a game if you do not score. PSU's offense is HORRIBLE, but their D is ranked top 5. They are going to have some painful games to watch this season. I see more of those 6-3 games like they had vs. Iowa last year.

And I always root for the Big Ten teams when they are playing non-conference games. Plus I always root for OSU, for two reasons. 1, I want them to have a great record so that if UM beats them it will help more in the rankings and 2, like you said... to make the big ten better.
