aren't the betting sites having problems with FCC? I would definately start gambling with free money and contribute some of my own.

I believe, but not positive the gambling sites are having problems with letting their customers use credit cards to deposit money. But thats not a big deal because you can just use other sites to deposit money, ie. neteller or firepay.

You can't base your beliefs on what some church does.
There are a lot of false teachings in some churchs. One has to look no further
than the entire Catholic church to see that.

Oh trust me, my beliefs have nothing to do with what churches ('es' at the end or just 's'?) do. They come from the crap that is talked about in said churches and come from the 'books' used in the churches.

But yes, it is a catholic church that had the gambling.

But what specifically states that gambling is a sin in the teachings of christians...self indulgence or some other variance of the 7 "deadly sins"? If you don't have a "problem" gambling and can do it for fun what is the big deal? If fantasy football for money a sin?

Gambling is based on the evil desire to get money or goods which belong to someone else without giving fair value in exchange. The Bible calls this sin "covetousness" and makes it clear that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God
Anytime someone is enticed to gain money at someone's else's certain loss, this is definitely not practicing the principals taught by Christ. Also, the practice of gambling takes away from the Bible's principals of economics -- working, saving and giving. Discipline and accountability for spending are ignored. Gambling preys on the weakness of others.
From personal experience, the indwelling spirit of Christ leads me not to gamble
and to use that money in ways that glorify Him.
