BtownBeers, Thats pretty much how I feel too. I was raised Catholic, and I base my life on those beliefs. There are alot of Catholic things that I follow and there are even more that I don't. But, I consider myself a good person with good values. Betting is fun.... the way I do it, its not hurting anyone. The only person it hurts is the guy that throws all his money away cause he can't control himself..... and even then its thier choice. I can't stop them from doing what they are going to do.

What the hell am I talking about.....
Wait.... I had a point.........................

My God doesn't see anything wrong with it. I say that jokingly...but my point is. Who's god is right? Is it the one that says don't play on Sunday? How about the one that says don't drink Coffee or Coke.... or you can't eat certain things on certain days? Half of the people that do these things haven't the slightest idea as to why they are really doing them. Its just somthing thier religion does.

Playing on Sunday's wasn't a Christian thing... I was talking about BYU.

However, i still find gambling being a sin as craziness. but that JMO.
Religion and religious people may be hypocritical but God/Jesus is not.
Let's not confuse what people do and what the Bible says.Do you expect someone that follows Christ to be perfect?

So you think what God expects from people is craziness?

It is impossible to follow the Bible exactly. That's why Jesus did what he did.

I think you missed my point... i DON'T expect people to follow what believe in exactly. No one can possibly do that. Thats why i said people should be able to pick and choose what they want to believe or follow from their religion.

No i think some of the things people believe is crazy, its just a personal feeling. Whether or not you believe in a god or the bible is up to you. Some people may not believe that God expects anything from them.

Good ideas Mike and Bass!

I think my main problem is that to be what is considered chirstian or holy or whatever in the true sense of it takes a lot of "fun" out of life. All the things we are not supposed to do are what can make life a lot of fun. This is a generalizatioin of course and there are boundries, but I have seen some christians take it to the degree that I would be bored out of my mind living my everyday life and for what...the hope and possibility that I may get to heaven and life eternal life there....but what that means and what that actually entails no one knows.

rusty...have you spoken to god directly?? until you do so, you can't take he word of people who lived thousands of years ago and told stories....so you can't say god doesn't want you to gamble....the bible was written by man...changed and twisted over the years....so gamble, fornicate, drink and be merry...cause in the end, we all end up in the same place...
