That was never an option. We have said it a lot before, and this is a site by the members for the members. The members have every right to know what is going on, because this is YOUR forum.

Like Rusty said, it is hard to imagine that someone would go through all the trouble of trying to pull this off, for little reward. Well, imagine if a fraudulent interview was posted, and someone from the NHL found it and sued. No way can we compete with that, and someone would have trumped us big time. That will never be a possiblity in the future, but it sure as hell could have gotten ugly on this one.

Ok guys, here is the truth.

The "person" that gave the interview is not Dan Hinote. He is a fake. I was able to conclude this last night.

I apologize to the members for falling for this trap. I do not yet know who it is, but I have my suspicions. It may be discovered in the future, or they may just die. I am hoping for the latter.

Mostly, I apologize to the real Dan Hinote, and the Colorado Avalanche organization. I never intended to present them in a negative light.

The good news is that the real Dan Hinote has agreed to a telephone interview, and I will be putting that up this week.

We should have all known something was up when the guy in the past interview said that Dives fans are the best in the country. A real live NHL player should know better.

Like an Avalanche fan is going to say that Avs fans aren't the best in the country. Everybody says their fans are the best. A Detroit player would probably think Avs fans are the worst, but they'd only say that because they're inbred morons.
