We sent you your topic via PM, as well as a reminder to get your topic done. I don't know much more that we could have done. The last thing we wanted to do was to disqualify you, trust me.

The only thing that I can suggest is that if its ok w/Dmon, that we give you an exception (I do believe you) and start the match.

From where I sit, this is Mike's fault. If he hadn't changed the site, Ssigs would have known he had a PM, and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I say Ssigs gets his shot, and gets just as long as everyone else did to write his article. Dmon should not have a problem with this, as he will have an * by his name for the rest of the comptetion if he wins by default.

EDIT: As far as doing everything we could to contact him, I think we could have emailed or IM'd him from his profile (I'm assuming he has that info listed).

We can chalk this up as a learning experience.

We have come to an agreement where the match will go on. Every participant was PM'd and some (including SSigman) was emailed that they had 24 hrs or less to submit their article. Also, its hard not to penalize SSigman because 7 out of 8 people got the info back to me in time, and its not fair to enforce the policies arbitrarily.

However, since there were some problems with the site, I agree its not fair to disqualify him. A one-point penality will be deducted from the accuracy section of SSigman's Article round. I think this is a fair decision.
