I'll give him credit when he actually mans up, grows a pair, and plays like the power forward he's supposed to be. I have the same issue with Naslund and the Sedins, which is why I've never had any faith in this team to do anything in the playoffs, because they lack true-blue canadian heart and grit. Never ever trust Swedes to do anything other than dipsy-doodle around. Swedes and Russians are the biggest pussies when it comes to hockey. Fins are pests, Czechs are tough and stingey, Slovaks are weak, Americans are fast and reliable.

divealanche.com was somewhat funny about 5 years ago, now it is just sad. They are focused on 4 players that don't even play for the Avs anymore, and 2 that don't play at all anymore.

I wish I had enough free time on my hands to create a mediocre website mocking a conference rival of mine. Those aren't fans of hockey, they are just homer dorks with Avalanche envy.

It was 11 games, actually - a four game sweep of the Canucks in the first round, and a seven game victory over the Kings in the second round. In Game 7 of the second round, something happened to Forsberg his spleen was ruptured.

And he stayed in the game.

It wasn't until a couple hours after the game when he was doubled over in pain that he was taken to the hospital and the injury was discovered.

Forsberg had 89 points during the 2000-2001 season (27 goals, 62 assists), second on the team only to Joe Sakic with 118 points (54 and 64), who wound up being MVP of the league that year.

In the playoffs, Forsberg had 4 goals and 10 assists in his 11 games played. One of those goals was in Game 3 against Vancouver, an overtime goal that gave the Avalanche a 4-3 victory and a 3-0 lead in the series.

i dont even care anymore, it was a great discussion, and Iskur, you did a good job even with your blinding and searing hatred of Forsberg.

Gentlemen, we have a split decision in favor of......

Mark C!!!!!!!!!

Judge 1: Mark 49-Ishkur 48
Judge 2: Iskhur 50-Mark 46
Judge 3: Mark 50-Ishkur 47

Judges Comments

KP: It is CLEAR that both of these guys are excellent writers. Whatever the topic, they are easy and entertaining to read.

AS: This match had the intensity of a final.

PM: Man, this one was TOUGH!!!

KP: Ishkur seemed to base his choice more off of opinion while including some stats. Mark backed his opinion with statistics that showed Forsberg could be considered better as a complete player.

AS: I thought Iskhur's style was second to none. I thought that he also gave the more convincing argument as to who the better player was. Mark said Jagr is a pussy, but really didn't tell me why.

Point Man: Can't be "Simon Cowell" when comparing these two guys. I am going to be disappointed that one of them will not go on, because this was fantastic work. Oh, but Ishkur....Forsberg's nickname is "Foppa", American critics added the "L", but I didn't hold that against you, just letting you know.

OMG KP! Ish had all the stats as well as opinion. What are you talking about? You had to have gotten the names mixed up.Mark had very few stats in comparison to opinion, especially in the article.
Oh Well.
Congratulations Mark.

Man, when I'm right, I'm always right.

I concede to you, Mark. As for the judges: If you seriously want to base your decision on a guy who has barely played a full career's worth of elite level hockey, basing his statistics on perceived or completely imaginary events that you postulate could or might have happened, then I should've picked Pavel Bure whom, when he was healthy, was quite simply the most electrifying hockey player I've ever seen in the history of the game. But I thought the judging was going to be on actual criteria: objective, actual things that happened in real life. I did not consider Bure because he played too seldom, and he was hurt too often, to warrant serious contention. But now that I see Mark's argument, I should have, because I could drum up any argument on what Bure's career would have looked like had he played a long, healthy, and lengthy career like Messier or Gretzky. Call me a poor sport, but I really do think your judging criteria is ass. And the tragic thing is Mark is not to blame for this. He just had a poorly-constructed argument and didn't consider all criteria.

I'm done.

Iskhur,

Anytime there is a split-decision you should know that the judging was extremely close.

I don't think even the judges saw this one the same, so to address the judges in a blanket statement misses the mark in my opinion.
