Both Orlando and Detroit look pretty good too. I would not write the Celtics' Finals ticket just yet.

They are playing good ball and the bench is not quite as thin as first thought. There is reason for optimism, but you are correct; it is far to early to get excited. They are an injury or two away from disaster but that is true for a lot of teams(hello Spurs).

I've only seen Celtics games this year... up to 4 games (on and off of course), so they are the best team i've seen this year. Other than Cleveland, who beat them in one of the games I saw.

Celtics is a very impressive team but im thinking that orlando is a tough contender with dwight howard manning the paint and rashard lewis in the wing. With that I'm doubtful if the Celtics will reach the finals.

I am not a huge NBA fan but I do follow the league somewhat and became a Pistons fan when I lived in Detroit. As such, I really enjoyed the Pistons handing the Celtics their first home loss of the year last night. It was a very compelling game by TWO really good teams. Frankly, I thought Boston was more hype than substance given how easy their schedule has been but they really impressed me last night. Unless there is a big injury or shakeup, last night was an Eastern Conf. Final preview and it will be a fun series to watch!

what's really surprised me lately that I've seen is that the ppg of the big three, KG Allen and Pierce has gone down this season.

That doesn't surprise me at all. They are unselfish players that want to win. They get theirs and they like the rest of the starters and guys off the bench to get theirs as well. Its hard to think you can put 3 stars on one team and not have issues...these three don't care and just want to win...that I respect a LOT especially in this MEBA era.

Agreed with Beers... my favorite team by far in the NBA. I love the unselfishness. These guys just want to win, and obviously aren't concerned with individual stats. In their win over Chicago, Garnett took 6 total shots... and their win over the Knicks, he took 5. And Paul Pierce is having a career year in assists per game.

I have always been a fan of KG because of his unselfish play. It's really easy to root for a guy like that.

How about those Pistons though? They just keep winning and winning and winning...
