I think that as soon as Cuban heard that, he told KVH that he'd pay to have every bone in his body broken and as soon as they healed, he'd pay to break them again.

the nba has come out and said he doesn't have to suit up at all this year and that is fine....so the fact he had to think it over just annoys me even more

KVH: Uh, yeah.
Cuban: Well, since I f'd up this original trade, I need to pay you another 4mil to go take a physical in NJ.
KVH: Uh, idunno. I mean, what if I want to play for the mavs again?
Cuban: Never gonna happen.
KVH: My agent wants me to take the next 2-3 days to think about it.
Cuban: Fine. (long pause)(explosion in KVH's back yard) Oh, Kevin. That was me speeding up your timetable. Would you like to keep thinking about it?

Cuban: The next one is under the back porch. After that the master bedroom. Take all the time you need.
KVH: I'm good. When's the flight?
Cuban: Now. Plane's waiting in the street.
KVH: Street?
Cuban: Yes Kevin. Open the front door, walk to the plane that you see, get in.

This is not a move that will win the Mavericks a championship. It does make them significantly better but I don't think this alone will put them over the top.
The reason is for the lack of a big man. (This is as broken a record as the Rangers needing pitching). Dampier can be really good in stretches and then pick up three fouls in 30 secs. He is not reliable for an entire game let alone series. There needs to be another move to solidify the center, otherwise this team will go one (maybe two) rounds in and be done. IF that happens, it will be ok PROVIDED that Cuban goes after (and gets) the best free agent center available, whomever that may be, in preparation for the finals next year. Because let's face it, Kidd aint gettin any younger and this window of opportunity, that was closing quickly, is still closing... just not as fast.

its not like diop is an all star...he just provided some minutes....he averages like 4 or 5 points a game...while kidd is getting older, the guy just plays...look at his stats..he's still putting up triple doubles and is a great on the court leader...i'm a big mavs fan this year as i wanna see kidd get the ring

another rumor is the nets trading vince carter to the knicks with eddie curry going to the heat and jayson williams and ricky davis(both contracts expiring) going to the nets

Diop an all star? Duh. But with what the Mavs have left, they can't get a better 7 footer than Diop. I'm not saying they shouldn't have traded him in the Kidd deal... but with the parts the Mavs still have, they aren't getting a good big man. Teams don't give away guys that big.

how hard is it to get a guy who's equal to him??? easy cause the guy isn't really any good...and doesn't put up huge numbers so they could throw an expiring contract out and get a big man back in return who averages the same minutes as him
