You should work for ESPN.

The Pistons came out hard and fast yesterday. They played rough, with intent and made shots all night in face of some very good, if inconsistent Boston defense. The refs for the most part let them play. A lot of calls went the Celtic's way( weird) and their going to the line kept them in the game. Boston made a lot of poor decisions on shots and with the extra pass but that was directly attributable to Detroit's tenacious defense. Boston was able to repond in each quarter but could not overcome a determined and focused Pistons squad.

Back to Boston.
You say my logic is flawed and yet you provide no examples, instead you accuse me of using clichés and then dismissing them when clearly, in this case, they are applicable. If you are looking for some kind of expert analysis, why are you looking here? I’m just espousing my views. Now if you don’t agree with them, that’s a real shame as I’m using facts and you are using your green and white tinted opinions.

Have you even been watching these games? I’m asking because anyone who watched game three can only conclude that the Pistons absolutely imploded. If you want to debate game 1 I can kind of go along with that but game 3 was an absolute train wreck from the Pistons standpoint.

Presenting opinions or views as facts is your flaw. Stating that anyone who watched the games must be seeing the same things that you see is is foolishness.

At the end of the day I always give credit to the team who wins. Your weak implication that viewpoint is colored only by hometown loyalty demonstrates that your narrow viewpoint colors even what you read.

Keep up the comedy, your act may catch on.

OK. Let's look at some numbers from game 3 which I feel is the best example of how the Pistons have lost games rather than the Celtics winning them:

The Pistons had fewer turnovers and more blocks than the Celtics.
On free throws, the Pistons were 23 of 26; the Celtics were 25 of 30, so that is basically a wash.

So where is the difference? It is here:
The Pistons shot 38% from the field and SEVEN PERCENT from the 3 point line. They made ONE 3 point shot. In other words, they might as well have been shooting with their eyes closed.

What I saw in game three was a complete train wreck by the Pistons. The numbers I provided above would seem to indicate that to be the case.

I noticed you ignored two sets of numbers. Rebounds and of course the most important final score.

Also telling here is your failure to address why they hit only one three other than than your usual inane comment this time about shooting with their eyes closed. You don't suppose Boston may have played a litlle defense during the game?

Good point. Boston has been keeping teams to single digit three-point percentages all season. Right? Right?? No? Oh...OK

Well, it's the playoffs so things are different! The Celtics have held the Pistons to a single digit percentage in the playoffs right? Oh wait, the Pistons shot 41% combined in games one and game two. Hmmm.

I know what it was! The Celtics just STARTED playing defense in game three because they are SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD that they KNEW all they had to do was play their singular brand of defense one game out of four and they would have Detroit on the ropes. What a fantastic squad!

But hey, we all know that the final score is the ultimate arbiter of performance and that nothing can be gleaned from any other useless statistic or numerical fact so why even bother? It’s all black and white, all or nothing! Yay!

Here is another bit of those silly numbers which I'm sure doesn't prove anything:

In games one and two combined, the Pistons shot 63 of 137 from the field, 45% shooting.

In games one through four, the Pistons have shot 127 for 280, also 45% shooting.

In game three, the Pistons shot 28 for 73, 38%. So the Pistons actually shot more but because of the vaunted Celtics defense they shot 7% worse. But it's not like the Pistons just played like crap, no...it was the Celtics D-FENSE! Man, when those guys turn it on, they really turn it on!
