the explanation on espn radio today by billy packer was this...the ball was touched and then bounced in bounds and then went over the table out of bounds...once it was touched the clock started and doesn't stop till it touches the ground out of bounds...they said they timed it in live speed during the game and 1.1 came off....

I have never ever heard before that the clock doesnt' stop til the ball hits the floor. If thats the case, you can just have one of your players throw the ball into the stands as time winds down. Depending on how high you get the ball it could take a while.

But if thats the rule, then i see how 1.1 can be right.

I question the fact that the ball was in bounds when it touched the floor. I thought it was on the line.... not that it matters.

i hear ya nick and it was close..i personally thought 2.9 but if it landed in bounds then i could see the 1.1.....as far your example jay, i have nothing for that..i just repeated what i heard...i had texas a&m so i wasn't happy with the outcome
