Nebraska receiving two votes in the AP poll after beating previously #16 Oregon 88-79 in OT on Saturday! GO BIG RED!

ssigman if you had another Douby on your team this year, Rutgers would be a good team IMO. Inman can't do everything for you guys and it kind of looks like he has to do a lot, you guys beat us last year but we beat Rutgers this year. srry just had to throw that in there haha

if we had 3 douby's i'd be happier..this guy sofman, a freshman can shoot but he's like the 10th guy on the floor....corey chandler, freshman, is also playing well

they just aren't good...yea you beat us..we couldn't hit a shot..typical

you'll enjoy this...a guy on cbs message board is pumping up ball state and saying they'll beat us in the international bowl..his reason..they put up 600 yards of offense against nebraska..even though they lost....he's a clown..did you see that game??

Yea I was at the game ssigs, I wanted to puke when I saw the points and the yards keep racking up against us. I thought it was week 2 vs USC except instead of running all over us they passed all over us. Nate Davis is a good QB for ball st but not that great. Our ex D coordinator Kevin Cosgrove wouldn't change one thing on his defense even if it was a life or death situation. I think it will be a good game between Rutgers and Ball St because Nate Davis is a talent and they have some good WR's but I still think Rutgers pulls the victory out.

And to help AndyC out all the top 25 teams won tonight but Texas had a little bit of a scare.

Also did anyone else see the feat Texas Tech accomplished on Dec 5th I know its awhile ago but I just heard about it. Although its only La Tech that it happened against they went on a 42-1 during a span in that game, that is nuts.

42-1...how many timeouts do you use to try to stop that??? haha

i think we'll win too...nebraska hired po pelini right?? you happy about that?? they have alot of work to do to become nebraska again

i know noone cares about women's b-ball(except rusty and me when my team makes the finals) but look at this schedule rutgers women plays in the early season

#7 Stanford at home L
#14 GW away W
#6 LSU at home W
#3 Maryland at home W
#17 Duke away L
#11 California home W

thats within a 9 game stretch...

they still have these games remaining this year

#13 WVU away
#2 Uconn home
#1 Tennessee away - this is the next game after uconn..helluva tough back to back game stretch...vs 1 and 2
#17 ND home
#15 Depaul home
#2 Uconn away

is there any men's team who has a schedule like that??

Wow, that is a TOUGH looking schedule!

In the Top 25 tonight, there are 8 games but none that have two top 25 teams going head to head. There are three that I think are compelling though:

#2 Memphis at Cincinnati. Memphis is a lot of fun to watch and this game will be televised nationally on ESPN 2. It wouldn't hurt to check this out.

#19 Arizona at UNLV. This game should be pretty close and I would not be surprised if UNLV pulled the upset here.

Bradley at #16 Butler. This will be the game of the night I think. Bradley is usually at or near the top of the Missouri Valley and Butler is obviously a very good mid-major team. I wish THIS was on TV rather than Memphis/Cincinnati but what can you do?

Yea ssigs we hired Bo Pelini the defense will be ready to go because from what I've heard his players will "run through walls" for him as a coach. When he was interim head coach for the bowl game everyone loved him back in 03. I like Women's basketball a little bit follow it Nebraska's women are 9-2 right now, looking to make another NCAA tourney. I'm also hoping the men's team can pull an NCAA bid this year.

#2 Memphis has a bit of a rough time with Cincinnati last night but eventually prevailed. Derrick Rose was a MAN last night in that game.

UNLV blew it against #19 Arizona last night. They could have easily won that game!

As for Bradley...well the game against Butler wasn't as close as I thought it would be.

Everyone else in the Top 25 won last night too.

6 Top 25 teams are in action tonight. The biggest matchup by far though is #6 Duke at #11 Pittsburgh. That game, of course, is on ESPN tonight. Another poteanially interesting game tonight is #18 Gonzaga at Oklahoma. Oklahoma is usually a pretty tough place to play so this has upset written all over it. Anyway, the game is on ESPN 2.

I wish we played in a bowl game for exposure. But the thing I do like is Pelini is still going to coach the Nat'l Title game for LSU so if he has a good defensive showing hopefully he can sway some recruits because we have lost a ton over the firing, I don't know if Callahan bribed them with money or what but they are dropping like flies. But during the Nat'l title game there will be mention that LSU's d coordinator is going to be the head coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers so hopefully the exposure helps us.

But about the bowl game on the other hand I'm glad that we did not make one because I can't stand to see some of the sr's that were on the field during the season not give 100% every time out there. One of our linebackers said football isn't fun anymore they aren't having any fun at practice, I just wish he would realize you work hard in practice and don't have fun, to win ball games and that is the fun part that obviously didn't click in his head. Sorry that this is in the basketball part .... But ssigs started the football conversation! haha
