ESPN Radio is reporting that Goodell, Blank and the players union are in talks about asking Vick to volunteer to take a break this season.

Thats what I said all along, however a behind closed door agreement seemed like a better idea than a public one. Hopefully its unpaid and he has to work at an animal shelter shoveling dog shit!

I like the shit shoveling part, but I worry about him near animals with a shovel. I think it will come down to Goodell telling him that he can either take a leave or he will get suspended. Of course being a Vick he probably won't accept the leave. It is a test to see if Goodell has the balls to lay the smack down.

Daddy...he would just be shoveling the shit yards, the dogs would be no where near him...plus a sniper would be on hand if he were to stray towards the kennels.

You're prolly right its could end up being an ultimatium, Vick should man up from his pussy ass ways and take his punishment like a man and accept the season off to deal with how much prison is going to suck.

Vick dogfighting charges stir stinging reaction - CNN.com

Sick bastard..."Dogs that didn't show enough fighting spirit, or lost matches, were put to death by methods that included shooting, drowning, hanging and electrocution, according to the indictment. Prosecutors allege that on one occasion earlier this year, Vick participated in killing eight dogs."

I also think at this point the NFL and Blank are writing the statement FOR Vick that he will have to say.

"Don't want to distract team, blah blah blah"

The Falcons GM is probably on the phone with other teams already feeling them out for a QB.

Good link Beers

With politicians stepping in I can't see how Vick will play. The league won't want to deal with the heat. Especially PETA protests at games to keep reminding people.

All I want to know is where they are getting this info from. As I stated long ago, i've always thought he was guilty, and I still do. There is a 0% chance i think he's innocent. BUT, guilty to what extent? Who is saying he killed these dogs? If its one of the people who lived in the home who are trying to cop a plea, how much of it can you believe?

Don't get it twisted, ANY involvement in this (even just knowing it was happening), would make me want to use that Rocket Launcher on him. But there is a big difference between killing dogs with your bare hands and just turned the other way knowing dog fighting is going on there.

Thats one of the major reasons I thought they should all agree to have him sit out while this goes on. The media blitz, fans, and organizations that would protest and be heavily involved in everything little thing he does and at the games, practices, etc would be overwhelming for all involved.

I also like the government getting involved, legislation is being introduced about dog fighting and I think thats a great thing.

At this point its all speculation for us Jay....who knows maybe they have a video of him killing those dogs. I know a hell of a lot more dogs were killed than those 8, so they must have something alleging he was directly invovled in those, what? Your guess is as good as mine.

For me I just hope that everything is rock hard against him and that the witnesses are just solidifying the facts even more. Maybe what I should say is that I hope the evenidence is crystal clear EITHER way Guilty or Not Guilty. If he is honestly found Not Guilty by cold hard facts and not some shitty lawyer tricks..I'll be the first to apologize for most of my words about him thus far.

Oh i wasn't asking you who was saying he killed the dogs himself, more of a general comment. And I agree, I want the evidence to be crystal clear as well... i just want a video of him being there, or a picture or something.

The feds want Vick enough, they may be willing to give a huge break to the 3 who lived there to roll on Vick. If thats the case, who knows what they say is true.

I think the opposite could also hold true, in that because it is someone as high profile as Vick...they want to make sure they get him based on as much absolute evidence as they can.
