But i was saying OUR jobs can not be compared to the NFL.

Lets face it, the NFL is very different from regular business. If Peyton Manning or Tomlinson get in bad trouble, you obviously do whatever you can to make sure you keep them. Because you won't be near as good without them. Plus all the money your lose in the signing bonus you gave them up front. there are very few jobs (if any) in the business world like that.

So he gets special treatment for being in the league? I am not sure what you are trying to say.

And signing bonuses are common in business. I have even been offered them from time to time.

Yes good NFL players get special treatment. Like it or not, they do. There is far too much pressure for teams to win, and to acheive that you need your best players.

I know that. But we're not talking near the amount the good pro players get.

this argument does not make any sense. vick is very popular so the nfl should want him in the league. his jersey is second best selling. obviously the nfl is treating this like one of our jobs and protecting its image. businesses that are publicly traded get rid of the person that causes a scandal in order to protect its public image, and to keep people coming back to their product. The NFL as a major image problem now, and their will be some people that will be turned off this behavior, and won't watch as mch or at all anymore. so in reality nfl isnt that much different because you are selling a product, and if their is scandal then people won't be as interested in it. think about the "black sox" scandal of 1919 and the baseball strike of 1994. baseball a "BUSINESS" took a hit and took a long time to recover. and their are still people who wont watch the sport, same with hockey and the lockout it just had. add in the nba scandal, they will have fan drop off. so yes vick needs to be suspended to show that the league as integrity and backbone, and will keep its fan base. the nfl is becoming a thug league and goodell as the balls to clean it up.

So you are telling me the NFL and other major sports don't do what they can to keep their major stars in the league? The teams don't do what they can to keep their best players on the field?

yes they do but when they commit henious crimes they are not. you could be the best at your job but if you did what vick did then you should receive the same fate. do they make more money sure but sports is business like any other, and obviously by what goodell and blank have done, have proven that its better to keep him off the field and league.
