UH OH!
Crewe tie it up! "Finally Crewe have got their reward against Manchester United! Varney embarks on a lovely jinking run before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner of the net! It's now 1-1 at Gresty Road." WTF is a jinking run? LMAO!

Well that's it for Pompey, they lose to Newcastle 3-0.
United and Crewe are now headed to extra time after drawing 1-1. Looks like the scummers and Liverpool are through as well.

Yeah tough one Jay.
Anyhoo, here is the fourth round draw scheduled for play November 7-8 Notts County v Wycombe Wanderers sp*rs v Port Vale Birmingham City v Liverpool Chelscum v Aston Villa Watford v Newcastle United Chesterfield v Charlton Athletic Southend v Manchester United Everton v Arsenal Everton drawn with Arsenal and another match on the road for Arsenal. Should be interesting to see how the Young Guns do against a fairly decent Premiership side at Goodison Park.

How do they determine who is the home team in this?
Guess i'm down to rooting for Liverpool and Newcastle. LMAO @ Notts vs. Wycombe. Sadly one of those teams will advance. |

It is a random draw, with none of the rankings in place for like the World Cup draw. It means big teams can face each other in the early rounds or like you point out smaller teams can face each other as well. The only stipulation is that you cannot play more than 2 road games in a row. So, if Arsenal get past Everton then their next Carling Cup match will be at home.
Liverpool and Newcastle both on the road. The Reds should get by Bongo City but City do have some young talent, like Arsenal loanee Niklas Bendtner. Newcastle should also beat Watford because I think Watford is going to be worried more about trying to get out of the relegation zone in the Premier League.
