In all honesty ssigs the score line I think is a bit deceptive. Yeah the Argies scored 4 times but all 4 were set up by some world class passing. Any international team would have had trouble defending them. So I give the young US team credit for trying to play with the Argies and not turtling and trying to play defense in depth and go for a 0-0 score.

What do you think gunner? I didn't see Paraguay's first game, but my god they blew the doors off Columbia. Looks like I can watch this one during dinner, sweet.

Paraguay has some talent but their first game was more down to Colombia really sucking out loud, some of the worst defending I have ever seen at the International level.

It will not be easy against Paraguay but I think a draw is within reach for the US team.

i hear ya gunny...but we're clearly outclassed when you match up the u.s. and argentina players....paraguay is another story..if the u.s. plays well, i can see 3 points from this game...5-0 of colombia is nice but they aren't that great

Cool, thanks guys, good to hear we have a shot. I had no clue how good Columbia was, so the 5-0 score didn't mean much to me.

colombia was good in the early 90's...they've fallen on hard times lately...paraguay is a good team don't get me wrong...but they are no argentina

The guy to watch for tonight is Roque Santa Cruz, he had a hat trick against Colombia. If Conrad and DeMerit start again in the middle of defense Santa Cruz should always be in their sights and tightly marked.

Colombia used to have one of the top players in the world with Carlos Valderrama, great hair too.

valdaramma was a beast...played in mls too for the now defunct tampa bay mutiny...

roque santa cruz is def the man to keep an eye out for...he's a special player but not a big name here in the states obviously

Simply amazing! I know i'm new to soccer, but i can't rememeber a half like the 2nd half last night. I can't remember ever seeing one team outplay another by such a wide margin and not win. We kicked the shit out of Paraguay but somehow couldn't manage to score. Their goalie deserves an award and our forwards need to be kicked in their teeth.

well i think its pretty widely known that we do not have any world class strikers....its a big problem and one that will prevent us from really being a threat on the world stage...i know you like him but twellman isn't the answer...neither is ching or johnson at this point
