oh yeah, its obvious that the U-20 games are far behind the national teams, but i was just wondering if some may be ready 2+ years from now. Its just exciting to see the kids doing so well... shows we have a ton of potential.

From what I have seen Altidore could be a possibility, although he is VERY right-footed, although that don't seem to hinder Cristiano Ronaldo too much.

WOO HOO!

2-1 victory over Uruguay puts the U20s in the quarter finals. I did not get to see it because ESPN blows dead dogs in hell. From what I have read though sounds like Freddie Adu put in a solid effort. The boys fell behind in the second half only to tie it up on a Uruguayan own goal. Then Michael Bradley, son of the USMNT Coach Bob Bradley, scored the game winner in the 107th minutes inside of extra time.

Next up is Austria on July 14 from 2:15PM, scheduled to shown on ESPN-U.

"ESPN blows dead dogs in hell" <--- LMAO!

I didn't see it either, but Daddy did, and was bitching about the refs screwing our US boys. Glad they advance, and need them to win next game as well because i won't be home for the saturday game.

I don't watch much soccer, but the bar was erupting in fury over what the refs kept doing. I know a penalty and we got them left and right. I got pissed when the ref RAISED his arm to hand out a yellow card and the Urg guy actually grabbed it and pushed it down!!! Nothing was called on him. The world hates us and I hate them back (in a sports sense)

i also didn't see it cause espn decides to use there 34th channel to show the game so they could show celebrity/athlete softball from the all star festivities...ech...i hate espn alot of times..this is one of them

glad we pulled out the victory....adu seems to be really stepping up his game and i think he'll get alot of looks overseas because of it...while its not a huge stage here, its a big stage around the world for the young players...i still think adu shoulda played in the gold cup..just my opinion

i hate all refs

Soccer players are the biggest bitches in the world, one minute they are crying about their elbow and two seconds later running after the ball like nothing happened. That is why it will never catch on in the US, we are used to seeing football player tape a broken finger to the next one and play the next set of down, soccer players just cry.

Not all players are like that daddy, oh and thanks for the recap, but a reliance on over dramatics does seem to be part of the South American player's game.

I can't stand them. With all my ranting I will continue to watch but to be honest I need to see tougher players to really get my interest.

And that guy from desparate housewives takes softball way to seriously. And props to Kenny for stealing that home run.

We were playing trivia at the bar we were watching the game at. As inspiration for our boys I suggested the name Under 20 Over 18, it was deemed to offensive. I can't stand kids.
