Race number 4 in the books for this season and what a fantastic race at Circuit de Catalunya yesterday!

A grand slam for Ferrari's Felipe Massa as he won the poll position, fastest lap and the race in dominating fashion. There was moment of nervousness though as on his 2nd pit stop his car lurched forward a little early and he exited the pit lane with flames billowing off his car which eventually extinguished themselves.

McLaren continued their excellent performances with rookie Lewis Hamilton taking second and defending driving champion Fernando Alonso taking 3rd in his home grand prix. Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari gave out due to electronics problems after 9 laps.

So after 4 races Ferrari and McLaren continue to dominate.
Drivers Results
Felipe Massa Ferrari 10 pts
Lewis Hamilton McLaren 8 pts
Fernando Alonso McLaren 6 pts
Robert Kubica BMW 5 pts
David Coulthard Red Bull Renault 4 pts
Nico Rosberg Williams Toyato 3 pts
Heikki Kovalainen Renault 2 pts
Takuma Sato Super Aguri-Honda 1 pt

The point earned by Sato was the first F1 point ever earned for the Super Best Friends. Well done Takuma.

Overall, Lewis Hamilton took the lead in the overall drivers table and became the youngest ever driver at the top of the table, breaking the record set by the man who founded the team he drives for Bruce McLaren.

Next race two weeks, the Grand Prix of Monaco, always one of my favorites.

I can just never find when these races are on. And whatever race that was yesterday, is not listed in your schedule post Gunner. But Indy 500 in 2 weeks i guess?

Ohhh, sorry bout that. I didn't realize there was still 2 different leagues.

Yeah, Danica Patrick... she's in IRL, not F1... i got it now!

So which one has the better drivers? IRL or F1?

I would tend to say that even though both are open wheeled racing it is not really a valid comparison. Indy tracks tend to be more ovals than actual racing circuits so it really ain't the same kind of racing IMO.

And don't foget CART! Another open wheel league, but with real tracks, not this oval stuff (except for a couple of races). While Gunner is correct about IRL and F1 being different, I'd still suggest the pinnacle of open-wheel is F1, so F1 drivers are (far?) superior to IRL or CART drivers. CART has fed a few drivers into F1 in the past (Jacques & Montoya being the most well-known and in the recent past), and there's been a few that moved up to F1 and then dropped back down. Anyway - just to be controversial, I'dsay the best drivers PERIOD are in F1 - take that nascar!

Hey Gunner - what do you think of Luis Hamilton winning the driver's championship but not winning a single race? That's my prediction - he'll be second every race, and Alonso will DNF or crash enough times for Hamilton to gain points and in the races alonso DNF's, Massa or Kimi will win.
So that's my bold predition: Luis Hamilton becomes the first ever rookie to win the driver's championship and becomes the first ever champion to never win a race! It IS possible albeit unlikely....
