Vick's going to plea it looks like - Page 2

Wow. Vick looks kind of screwed now. Even if he DOESN'T go to jail, odds are he's going to be out of the NFL for a little while... Some teams will absolutely want to sign him, because he's still a good player... But he's going to cast a very dark shadow for a while, and there are probably not a lot of teams who will, at least for a while, want him darkening their doorstep.

If this end up the way it looks, jail or not, I can't see the NFL not banning hnim for life.

That's a possibility. Roger Goodell has shown he means business when it comes to discipline, so who knows? Maybe he would consider banning Vick for life.

I hear there is a superceding indictment under the RICO statute coming tomorrow. That would be motivation enough to plea now.

I heard on the radio he was still considering fighting the case. I can't believe anyone would be that dumb. The NFL would have to do a lifetime ban or else all the animal rights groups would have a field day.

dont think he would get a life time ban. obviously someone will try and pick him up whenever he is reinstated or released from prison. everyone is just hoping its not their team.

I guarantee you there will not be a lifetime ban for Vick. I think some of you guys are way overreacting. The sentence the judge gives Vick is his punishment for his crime. Once he serves his time, he has paid for any wrong he has committed. No sports leagues ban someone for off field crap.

What about the personal conduct policy? Why is that there? If Vick gets a RICO thrown at him I don't see how he won't be banned.

Just being charged with anything RICO related doesn't mean anything. All everyone is saying is that he would plead out before this new RICO business comes about. And it wouldn't be included in his plea.

They can suspend him under the conduct policy... but they won't ban him.

They reported this AM that his lawyers are split about what to do. I am not saying ban him for being charged, but he has way too many witnesses against him to walk away from this without being convicted or having to plea guilty. The government doesn't build RICO cases for fun.

If he openly admits to dog fighting do you really think that Goodell will allow the PR nightmare that would be allowing him on the field of play? Think about all of the protesting that will happen before every game Vick would be at. It could even spread to the league in general.

IMO, the new RICO charges are just there to help push Vick to take the plea agreement.

But, we'll see. I'm just saying that if anyone would ask me to bet on it, i'd throw down a lot of cash saying he won't be banned for life.
