Bill, the 49ers and Cowboy runs were mostly before salary caps and this wonderful parity we now have in the NFL, Might be my mind playing tricks on me, but I don't remember 2/3 of the league being considered pushoever teams back then.
I'll stand by saying that many coaches in this league, this year, could have brought the Pats to the record they stand at now. Bellicheck didn't do anything magical, what did he motivate them, tell them stay focused, any coach would have done that, just because he does it in a dirty sweatshirt and has an attitude with the media does not crown him a genius coach. That said, it is an achievement to go 16-0, there's always a let down game (the Pats had 2 or 3 potentials) and winning through those even if they came via late interceptions by backup qbs means something. they've stayed away from injuries, etc, but I don't think scumbag bill had shit to do with those details.
