Jets courting McFadden?
A group of representatives from the Jets flew to Fayetteville, Ark. on Tuesday to visit with top draft prospect Darren McFadden, The Star-Ledger reported. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound McFadden, who is considered to be the top overall prospect in the entire draft class, rushed for 1,830 yards and 16 touchdowns last season for the Razorbacks. The Jets have the sixth overall pick in next month's draft. Dolphins sizing up top prospects The Dolphins, who own the No. 1 pick in April's draft, have scheduled private meetings with Virginia DE Chris Long, Boston College QB Matt Ryan and Michigan OT Jake Long in their college cities, according to The Miami Herald. Miami dispatched officials to Ryan's pro day on Tuesday as well Chris Long's pro day, which was held on March 14. It remains unclear whether the Dolphins plan to keep the No. 1 pick. There has been a lot of speculation that they will make a strong effort to trade out of the top spot. Robertson trade unraveling? Dewayne Robertson | Jets | Interested: Broncos? Trade talks between the Broncos and Jets continue for Robertson, but don't expect something to happen soon, writes John Clayton. It would require a late draft choice to get the deal done with the Jets, but the Broncos would have to work out a new contract for Robertson before the trade happens. As of Monday, things were growing more apart than together. The Jets are trying to deal Robertson, who carries an $11.2 million cap number and is a poor fit for their 3-4 scheme. Robertson is scheduled to make $9.8 million in 2008 and is signed through 2009. The 26-year-old defensive tackle produced only 14.5 sacks in five seasons, but many scouts and personnel people believe Robertson could thrive in the right 4-3 system. Hall headed to Oakland DeAngelo Hall | Falcons | Interested: Raiders Hall says he will finalize a contract with the Raiders by Thursday morning, allowing the trade that will send him to Oakland to be completed. A source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that the deal is for seven years and worth $70 million. The amount of guaranteed money and bonuses in the contract have not been finalized. The source also told Mortensen the teams are discussing possibly more compensation than just a second-round pick for the Raiders to acquire Hall, a two-time All-Pro cornerback. Jones hopes to return home, play for Eagles Kevin Jones | Lions | Interested: Eagles? Jones' injury-plagued four-year career with the Lions ended Thursday when the team waived him. But Jones, a native of Chester, Pa., say the Eagles are one of 12 teams that expressed immediate interest. "It would be a dream, however, to play for the Eagles," Jones told the Philadelphia Daily News. Jones rushed for 1,133 yards his rookie season but has been bothered by injury ever since. After recovering from a Lisfranc sprain to his left foot in the 14th game of the 2006 season, Jones played 13 games for the Lions last season. He tore the ACL in his right knee on Dec. 23 but had surgery immediately and believes he will be healthy by training camp. Law returning to Jets? Ty Law | Chiefs | Interested: Patriots? Jets? Law, who had 10 interceptions for the Jets in 2005, visited with his former team on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. Newsday is reporting the Jets have strong interest in Law (Jets coach Eric Mangini was Law's position coach in New England), but the veteran cornerback doesn't want to sign with New York until he finds out if returning to the Patriots might also be an option. Law, 34, was released by the Chiefs in late February. Raiders deny rumors of 300-lb Russell JaMarcus Russell | Raiders Russell does not weigh 300 pounds and has been a regular at team headquarters for workouts since season's end, two team officials told the San Francisco Chronicle. One front-office employee, speaking on condition of anonymity, dismissed Internet reports of an out-of-shape quarterback as "ridiculous." The employee said: "JaMarcus is nowhere near that. He's been here. He's been working out. He's in great shape. That's something everyone's going to see at our first minicamp" in early May. Sheppard on Rams' radar? Lito Sheppard | Eagles | Interested: Cardinals? Rams? The Rams have inquired about Sheppard, according to multiple reports. The Cardinals are also believed to be interested in trading for the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback. Sheppard, who turns 27 in April, is under contract with the Eagles through 2011 and is scheduled to make $2.75 million this season. The 5-foot-10, 194-pounder is considered one of the better man-to-man coverage cornerbacks in football. |

Yeah they were really just simple rumors saying nada...I'd be ok with it...we need a return man...but we could try to draft Chris Johnson to take care of return duties.

yea i read he really impressed the scouts and ran one of the fastest 40s...early on he was a 6th or 7th round pick but after the combine and what not, he's up to 4th..not bad

I don't think Johnson is guaranteed to be a full time back in the NFL...I think he goes in the first 2 rounds based on his versatility and his 40 time which was I think one of the fastest ever at the combine. He's good in the return game and that would be great for us...I'd be ok using a 2nd round pick on him...our return game needs someone like this.
