The stiff arm is a classic old-school move. Most running backs don't use it because it is easy to injure yourself and also because it just pisses of defenders. This is just more proof that the NFL is pussified.

Pussified yes, but no where near the level of baseball, I wish I was around for the good ole days of baseball when brawls were much more prevalent and pitchers stuck up for their teams etc etc etc.

I don't quite get the stiff arm rule and what they are looking to prevent or discourage...the horse collar was a valid rule that was needed I think.

to jays point, a stiff arm has to be a semi-uncontrolled motion by design, much different than say blocking, or tackling, to say that a face mask can not be touched does pussify the league and all but negates the stiff arm.

It will be all but impossible to ensure you don't touch the face mask.
