Smith = most likely gone. (UFA)
Modry = FAIL! gone already. (UFA)
Jones = RFA - my guess is he will be back.
Kukks = 1 year left, then UFA. Will be here this year, no clue after that.
Hatcher = 1 year left, then UFA. My guess is he will be here unless he retires.
Coburn = just resigned, RFA in 10/11. Long time Flyer.
Timonen = sucks. lol, signed until 12/13.
Parent = 2 years left then RFA. long time Flyer.
Gauthier = 1 year left. They aren't bringing him up and paying him over $2mil. Phantom.

That leaves us with 5 or 6 d-men, not counting Phantoms (not much down there anyway). Homer said today in a press conference they want to get someone on defense. They will get a 1st or 2nd pairing type d-man. Campbell i don't think they can afford, but i bet anything they try for him again. If not, there are guys like Liles from Col, Kalinin from Buff, Stuart from Det, Rozival from NYR, Hainsey from CBL, who are all UFA's. Then who knows if they will try for other teams RFA's. There seems to be a lot out there.

I'd like to see Campbell come in, hopefully Danny can help talk him into it. i don't know a ton about the other guys out there and would rather not see us get into the restricted FA's mess and offering guys contracts.

Its really amazing how different this team will look next year (likely) after making it to the ECF, ugh the Cap blows ass.

I really don't think the team is going to look all that different. Maybe 2 of the top 9 forwards and one guy on the 4th line will be different... and we will actually get stronger on D by losing Smith and Modry and adding a top d-man. We really could have 4 or 5 out of the 22 guys be different, thats hardly any turnover.

Its going to depend on how much Campbell wants... my guess is $6mil a year. Now way we afford him. But i will be hopefull as well. If not him, i want Liles from the Avs. He can move the puck really well and we need that.

Liles/Parent
Hatcher/Kukkonen

That would ROCK.

I think it will look a lot different, especially for a team that just went to the ECF's...not that its a bad thing, just different.

Yeah, obviously staying the same didn't work the way we wanted it to. To me, there are clearly some areas to improve on.

I don't get the 56... what am i missing?

Current roster for the Flyers as of June 21, 2008. As you can see, we have a lot of guys fighting for playing time on defense (potentially). Plus, it gives us some bodies to move if we do sign a top UFA.
