I hope so.
I'd love to see the Bruins do it.

Bil, my guess is that this "serious thought" came after a few brewskies at the Shanty? Your boys are about to take some haymakers to the chin.

Au contraire. I see a "coup de foudre" followed by the "cri de coeur" and of course for Le Habitants "fin de saison!"

Bil, i hate to be the one to break this to you, but you root for a organization and writers who are HUGE whiney bitches...

http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/...ifferent_game/

No one will have the slightest trouble spotting Ovechkin. He'll be the guy with that No. 8 on his back, racing around the ice and dodging every obstacle while the dastardly Flyers attempt to make him their next hospital victim.

http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/...psules/?page=2

The Flyers, one of five teams to make the playoffs this year after a DNQ in '07, spent much of the season more intent on hurting people (see: Patrice Bergeron and Andrew Alberts) than actually trying to win games, or even play hockey. In fact, when the league finally got around to telling them to back off the kill shots, they looked extraordinarily ordinary

This should embarrass you.

great win last nite...nj played well and there "mystery strategy" apparently was to take sharp angle shots on lundqvist...great strategy..score 1 sharp angle goal and now thats your whole idea on beating him...

good job sister banger...thanks for staring at the puck when it was in your crease instead of covering it up hahaha

Wow,irresponsible writing to say the least.Still crying about Patrice.
How many times have the Flyers played against Cindy? I think he made it through all the Flyers games just fine as did all the other star players on every other team.

Good luck with that Bil! It would be great to see Tim Taylor bring his a-game (eh-game up here) without the brain cramps he has sometimes, and I do hope the Bruins do get it together - BUT, les Habs are just too much better I think, and I don't see Boston having an answer for Kovalev. I see very little chance of Price folding under pressure - sure it's his first NHL playoff, but he has come through in the crunch for Tri-City in Junior, for Canada in the world juniors and then he stepped in late in the season for Hamilton in the AHL last year and played so well he won the Jack Butterfield Tropy (MVP in AHL playoffs). Boston is improving (finally), and there's hope for the future, but I don't think they'll beat montreal this year.

It is irresponsible and bitchlike. Bergeron and Alberts got hurt by Flyers players and they simply can not let it go. They write that the Flyers spent more time trying to hurt people than to win the game. How is it that we ended up ahead of them then??

However, the Flyers probably helped Bergeron and Alberts in the grand scheme of things. I've got $20 that says neither of those two players ever put themselves in those dangerous positions again. Going down on your knees in the neutral zone with a player coming at you?? LMAO... who wants to bet Gretzky never did that one time.

Those are brutal articles, but this kind of whiney prose from sportwriters is not limited to Boston - I've seen articles from every NHL city (including, or especially the edmonton press who should know better) that are so one-sided and whiney that it's disgusting - anyway, don't blame fans or teams for hack sportswriters that are probably writing like that on purpose to be controversial and attract readers.

My thoughts on the games last night:

Calgary was hungry and got rewarded, looked like SJ woke up a bit in the last 10 minutes. Can't figure out whay SJ is consistently shooting low, the way to beat Kipper is up high, and despite the fact that the TV 'experts' say he has a great glove hand, that is exactly where to beat him. Sharks better get much hungrier quickly or the upset will happen. Iginla is a frigging super warrior, too bad is he's a Flame (would sure look good in orange and black eh Jay?).

I figured the Rangers would win the series, but last night's game was almost a cakewalk - Devils have a lot of work to do and even Brodeur looked only human. Ssigs - where's your gloating over an Avery goal? Nice game by Shannahan who even at his old age still knows how to crank it up a couple of notches when the playoffs start.

When are the Senators supposed to arrive in Pittsburgh, and why did they send their minor team to play last night's game? Fleury gets a shut out - come on Sens, at least give them a game. Maybe the Pens win 4 straight and never get a goal on them. Roberts from Laraques for the first goal of the 2008 playoffs - WTF? Crosby played very well despite no points and Malken looks unstoppable - at least by Ottawa's defence. Fleury has his confidence back so look out, he's going to be hard to beat.

Colorado dominated the Wild, score could have even been worse - bringing Foote back was a brilliant move, Thibeault is looking strong, this series could be over fairly quickly.

Playoffs - what could be better?

i wouldn't say cakewalk...not even close...it was a very tight game and i had the devils out playing the rangers for long stretches of the game...the defense was lax at best giving up way to many easy and open chances...plus alot of the rangers kept falling on the ice..very odd...avery's goal was all due to my main man scotty g...not hard to hit an open net
