Uh oh. If the Rangers move to second place, I will be totally lost on how to compute the magic number. Unless the math stays the same and the 1st place teams is just lower. Hmmm.

Better if they just sweep the dbacks and pads and have several games in hand going into the home then away series with the angles.

Oh, and I loved the Triumph reference, Ssigs.

Ungh, it's things like this that drive me nuts; the team sweeps the rays who came in hot, took 2 out of 3 from the angels but lose to the diamondbacks and padres. They gave up their 5 game lead in the division and are now tied with the angels and the m's are charging.

Agreed. Embarrassing.

However, in the "cup is half full" view; they are still contending and we've already made it through June and can't do any worse than 7 games back in the middle of July. We can stop now. This season is a success.

The Rangers are just trying to counter balance the bar that the Cowboys have set. Cowboy fans expect an undefeated season and a Super Bowl every year, Ranger fans expect to be out of it by May.

Gutsy win by the boys last night putting up 6 in the 5th (mostly with 2 outs), pulling it back to deuce with the advantage tdb tonight.

The angels are tossing fungos in the 5th. Rangers up 8-1 and Andruw Jones is 3 for 3 with 3 HR's, not bad.

Heartbreaker of a loss last night as Tommy Hunter went toe to toe with m's felix hernandez. Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the 6th thanks to a wild pitch but could not hang on as CJ Wilson gives up a 3 run dinger in the 8th. No game for the angels last night so the lead is a 1/2 game for the kids right now.

tough loss...but losing to a #1 isn't a huge deal..its the ones where you lose to a cruddy starter that hurt

2 1/2 back of the angels and 4 1/2 out of the wc.

Big wins the last two nights. Really need to take this series from the bosox. Taking the division looks to be the only route to the playoffs as the East is starting to pull away.
