I agree we need depth and am ok to a certain extent to have my guys being backups, but if this trend continues then why would ranters even want to play? I mean some spend money some don't but whats the point of being a backup on a team created for and by the ranters to ride the pine?

I just don't get the point of a rant team if we just want to sign better players to take over most of the roles so the ranters play second fiddle, when they could just go out in free agency and start for other teams?

My CB has always been a backup and will continue to be, fine by me, and my center is the starter by default, boring ass position to care about. If my DT and LB become backups (not saying they will but if) then I really will have little interest in the team or my guys...just an example of how I look at it and how others may as well.

I'd love to add depth right at or below the levels were are at for positions needed especially if they are going to boost as well and in some cases (G, FS I think) the best player we can get is a good idea.

Just expressing my thoughts, its been impossible as it is to sign players thus far so who knows if we will or not.

We said our focus was on SS, LB, DT, and Guard as possible new starters. New starters there wouldn't affect any Ranters other than possibly your DT.

SS - Non Rant member would be back up.
LB - Would take over for low level non Ranter
G - Would take over for probably George Rich
DT - Would make your guy 2nd string if we got a high level

There has not been one contract offer to replace a Ranter, again, other than at DT because thats a huge need. I offered a lower level DE a contract to be a back up.

All Ranters positions are staying the same as they always have been. If Rant members had higher level players that could take on those roles, they would have them already.

The whole point of this thread was to in fact lay out what we were doing and what everyone thought was right and not only for right now but for the future of the team come next season and the following offseason and beyond.

We have to keep in mind we were looking for a ROLB not MLB or LOLB...not sure these guys will accept that role if they were to sign.

Oh and not all have been rejected just that logenhard G, the others are still pending, Edit: LB lvl 18 Snipes rejected as well

I was wondering that. But if thats the case, then it sounds like they are more likely to be looking to leave for the next best deal after they level up. We need players looking to stick with the cause!

Thats it I'm sick of it....I am going to offer the highest level FA I can find a 1 mil contract with 500K signing bonus!
