Steve Bartman?

How did he not earn this prestigious title during his 15 minutes of fame?

Because.... His infamy came and went so damn fast; it really doesn't matter. Just break it all down... Even if Bartman didn't get his fat mitts on the ball, 14 other dumb asses around him were all next in line to do the same. The ball was going to be interfered with regardless of who was sitting in that seat. It didn't help that Prior gave up like 8 more hits after that and Gonzalez made that lazy-ass attempt at the double play, only getting the 1 out in the inning, too. Bartman just isn't worthy of the top honors. The Cubs were hell-bent to lose weather or not Steve Bartman was in attendance that night.

I don't disagree with that at all. It's not his fault that they lost, but the way he was harpooned in the media, that should get him at least honorable mention.

Poor bastard.

Anyone in his seat would have done the same thing. Unless they didn't have arms. Still they might try to catch it with their teeth.
