SEC Basketball
Like BTown said.......I want my conf page too. even though Im the only UK and/or SEC fan here apparently.
Looking at UK, Bama, MissSt, FL, and maybe Arkansas, if they can get a decent win, UK needs some more offensive consistency, and I beleive because Morris hasnt come along as fast as wed hoped, thats keeping us around the perimeter more than wed like, but hey as long as we got Sparks MR. Clutch, we can seal the deal in the end,,,,,,,oh, and if the refs start calling traveling when guys slide on their ass like their supposed to, UK would be 17-1 with a 13 game winning streak. but oh well, it wasnt a conf loss, but we are still being punished in the polls for losing at home no matter how close it was. Big game on the stage at Vandy Saturday.........

sitting in my living room watching the Vols lose to Vandy again.

oooh yeah,now your talkin!
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Shyra Ely had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and fifth-ranked Tennessee withstood a late upset bid by No. 18 Georgia to win 77-70 Monday night. The Lady Vols (16-3, 6-0 Southeastern Conference) were ahead by 11 points with 6:37 remaining when Georgia went on a 6-0 run over the next two minutes.

I don't know if you've seen KU's women's coach, but she looks like Pat Summit with about 20 less years (and shot a few hundred losses). Hopefully she can coach anything like her while at KU.

Ohhhhhh! UKGopher goes to his bread and butter with "whatever" and "shut up". Where'd you learn to use such big words like "ignorance", "exceeded", and "aint no"? The military I suppose.
Okay, the SEC is up there with the likes of the Pac 10, MVC, & C-USA,. Happy, schmuck? Better yet, Rusty, where do you see the SEC as a whole compared to other conferences??? Back on topic to women's basketball, where the SEC does excel...I was glad to see the Lady Vols knock off UCONN for the first time in too long. Wow, Gopher, impressive. UK & Bama are the only noteworthy teams in the SEC. As history has shown, this is how the SEC works. UK is always the cream of the crop in the SEC and usually one other team will challenge them. A couple years ago it was Florida, last year it was Mississippi State and this year it's Alabama. At the same time, the ACC has Duke, UNC, Maryland, Wake, Georgia Tech, not to mention N.C. State. The Big XII has Kansas, OSU, Texas, and Oklahoma. Could even throw Texas A&M and Texas Tech in there, but you'd errupt as usual, so I'll leave them out to save your wife from a beating. The Big East has Syracuse, BC, Pitt, UCONN, & Villanova. The Big Ten (11) has Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan State, & Iowa. Now onto conferences of the SEC's caliber. The Pac 10 has Washington and Arizona, the MVC has Wichita State & Southern Illinois, and C-USA has Louisville, Cincinnati, & UAB. Face it nature boy, all you're doing is using Kentucky to keep the SEC afloat with the big boys. Take UK away, the SEC isn't even a major conference. Take UNC or Duke away from the ACC, it's still a powerhouse. Same with the Big XII with KU or OSU. Of course, I don't know why I'm wasting my time trying to explain this to you. You're probably so boiling mad now, you can't even comprehend what I'm writing, but hopefully Rusty will comment on it as he is a respected member of the Rant who always offers valuable feedback. how biased can you be Crash?
The ACC has UNC, Wake, the rest are just jockying for 3rd place and a 5 seed at the most, and last year, while UK beat MSU, they lost to Georgia 2x, so dont tell me the ACC has more parity than the SEC just because teams underacheive more consistantly
Maryland loses by 30 at Chapel Hill, beats Duke at Cameron, then loses to Clemson? WTF as Btown said, NCSt is GARBAGE Wake loses by 20 at Champaign w/o being competive for 30 seconds in that game, beats UNC handily at home, then loses at FSU (P.S. FSU isnt supposed to be aurprise anymore), then can barely beat a hugely overrated Duke team at home whilst giving up 90pts, good D boys Duke destroys the inferior opponents they play for 15 staright games, and play Wake tough as they even believed the hype, no longer though, and will be lucky to beat GTech at Cameron(BTW, when are they expected to get Elder back?), then will be crushed by UNC, Maryland will beat them at home too Im bettin. So, teams that threaten to make the E8 ACC= UNC, Wake, and GTech if they get Elder back soon enough SEC= UK, Bama Big 10=Illinois, Wisconsin Big 12=KU, OK, OKSt. and maybe Texas, even though injuries will send em home early Im guessin Big East=Syracuse is the only real threat from this conference CUSA=UL...Cincy yeah right Pac10=Washington, Arizona(doubtful) But as far as conferences that are able to remain chock full of talent and competitiveness, The ACC far exceeds in the talent pool, but not competitiveness. Remember, this is the first year in a long time the ACC has had more than 9 teams, the SEC has carried 12 for quite a while, and you can see how more teams can water you down some (Miami, VTech....yes they are winning, but only against the fakers in the ACC, they havent beaten Wake or UNC, and they wont. as far as any beatings, shed put up a better fight Im sure. But hey Crash, in about 3 weeks, well see where things are probably gonna go, then the Conf tourney results might seperate the contendors from the pretenders. Interesting view Rock had on the #1 seeds, dont you think?

well with most of the other major conferences in Mens basketball with only Kentucky being a top ranked team year in and year out. There is usually at least one other good team which varies from year to year; Florida having a couple of good years in the past and maybe Alabama this year. The SEC makes up for it in football at least.
